" Kirk Opheim aka Boogie Howser might be taking a break from playing in noisy bands with "odd time signatures" and "a good amount of screaming", including the now defunct Fuck The Tundra. But his heavily-swung beats are still filled with an underlying intensity. Taking inspiration from instrumental bands like Kayo Dot as well as the entire spectrum of UK bass, LA beats and Chicago house revivalism, the layers of sound in his ambient and electronic works run deeper than the winter snow in Alberta. We caught him live at Siroco's Post Club night during the Academy 2011 in Madrid. "
